Laurencekirk Angling Association Members Work On The Bervie

On a cold Sunday morning on February 17th, 6 members of the Laurencekirk Angling Association made their way down to the Pitskelly beat, trees had now become over grown and out of control so it was decided to cut them back. In larger spates the trees were starting to throw the water towards the agricultural ground that runs adjacent to the river.

 

The first run was fairly straight forward cutting and pulling and stacking up on a rough area. The second pool was on a large corner and was really catching  any rubbish coming down the river and causing the river to break out and cut the corner. With a days work and a bit of hard graft the club has regained two pools.
